Assembly aid, not structural approval. Screw lengths and fixing positions are planned for this design in the PDF.
Fit mating joints on test pieces. Glue faces must be smooth, fully contacting and gap-free. Glue and clamp square.
WOOD: half-lap joints ↗
Tenon thickness about one third of rail width. Make mortise first, then fit tenon without force. The app adds 1.5 mm glue clearance at blind mortise ends; continue checking remaining timber around adjacent pockets.
WOOD: mortise and tenon ↗
Use clean, untreated glue faces; acclimatise timber first. Follow product clamping and curing times. Titebond recommends at least 24 hours without loading new glue joints.
Titebond: using wood glue ↗
Consider grain direction, moisture changes and fastening direction. A geometrically fitting screw does not verify joint load capacity.
USDA FPL: wood fastenings ↗
Solid wood tops must be able to move across the grain. Do not rigidly glue or clamp them to the frame over their entire width.
Rockler: movable worktop fixings ↗
For metal connectors, use only the specific manufacturer's fixing set and hole pattern. Ordinary countersunk screws are not a general substitute.
